CIVILIZATION VERSUS NATURE

Man has dumped his sweetheart, nature, for civilisation
The refined girl that he ran off with
Socially,politically, economically and technologically advanced,
She has him hypnotised and entranced!

In other to thrive, she denies nature a right to stay intact
She promotes the destruction of natural habitats
She greedily consumes irreplaceable natural resources
She exploits plants and animals, driving them along extinction courses
She sacrifices others(guinea pigs) for her self preservation
She discharges her waste into other habitats, caring less about conservation
Hmm!this civilisation, surely, is destructive, chaotic and selfish

Strangely enough, man is being caught in the destructive web too!
He is unable to untangle himself from the slavish working hours
That takes his sweetness and leaves him sour
The idea is to keep low an ever rising mountain of bills
Though failing to keep the blood pressure normal, except with pills

Man,without doubt was given a commision to dominate,
Subdue,replenish,tend and cultivate
In fewer words, make nature look beautiful
But his eyes shifted to civilisation, making him unfaithful

But Nature, yeah, that which is natural
Nature,oh yeah, that which is original
Is beautiful in a dependent way
Interconnected and interwoven
Each strand strengthening the yarn
Strong and hard to break
Spiritually, she is attached and awake

Civilisation has eaten deep into the fabric of nature
Until she looks like the victim of a torture
Torn,distorted,old,rusty, neglected and porous
Whereas civilisation brazenly shines and looks glamorous!
But nature wont sit idly by to watch!
She is gripped by jealous emotions and is ready to war!

Nature versus civilisation
Both locked in a mortal combat
Flooded cities and earthquake torn landscapes,
Famines and disease pandemics are the result
Extreme weather conditions, a reaction to this insult

Man has by civilisation struck so long
Nature is now reacting to this protracted wrong
Civilisation stands but tilted
On the brink of collapse
Nature is first and best, perhaps!
